  • Mike Mirda

    Mike Mirda is the President of the Swim Melbourne Foundation. He is also cofounder and coach at Swim Melbourne, a USA Swimming club team. He swam at Satellite High (under Coach Terry Schlichenmaier), and then at FAU from 1998-2002. Mike earned an International MBA from FAU, moved back to Melbourne, where he pursued an international business career and helped his wife start a pediatric dental practice—Sunshine Smiles. Mike has always been involved with coaching—as an age group coach at Satellite, an underprivileged children’s summer camp director at FAU, and today as a coach at Swim Melbourne. With the dream of starting a new swim team in Brevard and building an aquatic center, Mike is fully committed to the Swim Melbourne Foundation. Today, Mike and his wife Dr. Kristin are married with four little minnows—Sadie, Piper, Jensen and Briggs.

  • John Walsh

    John Walsh is co-founder, owner, and head coach at Swim Melbourne, a USA Swimming club team. John swam competitively at FAU from 2010-2014, then coached as a graduate assistant for Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in 2015. John graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in ocean engineering and minor in mathematics. While completing a Master’s degree in ocean engineering, he served as volunteer Assistant Coach at FAU and worked as Assistant Coach at Boca Raton High School in 2016. After college, John pursued coaching and pool operations at Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale as Assistant Coach and Certified Pool Operator (under Head Coach Sam Freas, Jr.). In 2018, he moved to Brevard to pursue his dream of starting a new USA Swimming club team—Swim Melbourne. Today, John and his wife Brie are married and they have a son, Parker.

  • BJ Graham

    Bruce Graham Jr. (BJ) is founder, owner, and head coach at Swim Melbourne Masters. He is a US Masters Swimming Level 2 Coach and an avid swimmer/triathlete. He started his swim career in Brevard County (under Coach Terry Schlichenmaier) and then went on to swim at Indian River State College and University of Florida. After college, BJ began racing triathlons, USMS meets, and open-water races. A few of his achievements include: 1996 NJCAA National Champion in 100 Yard Butterfly, USA Swimming Senior National qualifier, IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, USAT All-American, and Masters Age Group National Champion. Today, BJ and his wife Trinity are married and live in Indialantic.

  • Richard Cavanah

    Richard Cavanah is owner and head coach of the North Palm Beach Swim Club since 1975, head coach of The Benjamin School since 1976, and currently is a Board Member of Florida Gold Coast Swimming since 1976, where he serves as Membership Chairman and Treasurer. Richard earned a BS in Business and Public Administration and swam for University of Missouri from 1967-1971. He has taken numerous swimmers to the Jr. & Sr. Nationals and Olympic Trials, with one gold medalist in the 1996 Olympic Games. Today, Richard and his wife Sandy reside in North Palm Beach and are parents of two adult daughters, Kristin Mirda and Molly Hastings, who also swam from Age Group through Collegiate level.

  • Mark Mohler

    Mark Mohler is a corporate, securities and tax lawyer with over 25 years of experience as a founding partner of Corridor Legal, transactional/tax partner at an AmLaw 100 law firm and general counsel to a public company. Mark holds a B.A, Juris Doctorate and Master of Laws in Taxation degrees from the University of Florida. Beyond outside legal counsel, Mark has extensive experience advising boards of directors and investors with respect to fiduciary matters, conflicts of interest and corporate governance issues. Today, Mark and his wife are married and with a daughter who plays beach volleyball at North Florida.
